Gloucester County College is not holding their annual high school programming contest for county high schools in 2003.
That contest has always been the first round of competition for students wishing to compete in the South Jersey regional contest held at Rowan University.
To fill in the gap, the plan this year is to host the county contest for 2003 as an Internet programming contest. The problem would be made available on a Rowan web page at a given time, and teams (with at most two people) would have 2.5 hours to work on a solution and submit it via electronic mail to the judging team, also at Rowan.
This is probably not an ideal solution, but we're having to spread our resources here at Rowan pretty thin in order to host two programming contests within a month of each other.
Our proposed date for the County Internet Programming Contest is Saturday, 15 March 2003.
If your school wants to participate, send electronic mail to Darren Provine, (provine@rowan.edu), the contest director. Include:
- The name and contact information of the school's contact person.
- The language(s) your students want to use.
- How many teams of two you expect will be included.
