Saving Your Work To USB Drive

Plugin in your USB drive. A file manager box should pop up and an icon should appear on the desktop.

Right-click and create a new folder ComputingEnvironments for your work.

In OpenOffice writer: File > Save As

A dialog box pops up. Click the arrow for ``Browse for other folders'' and then double-click the name in the list on the left that matches the name of your USB drive in the desktop icon.

Then double-click ComputingEnvironments on the right.

Then type in a name for your file at the top and then click Save.

Do not yank out your USB drive before closing all windows and right-clicking on the desktop icon and selecting Unmount Volume. When the icon disappears (and perhaps the USB drive light goes off), count to five or ten and then you can safely remove your USB drive.
