I finished the layout of the PTS website. The main content and the vertical left navigation bar are both resizable as the browser shrinks and expands. Created two master pages depending on whether
the
navigation bar is needed. I Met with Jacob to go over the Datastage Web Service Technical Specification. He explained how to integrate his existing Connections Web Service into my Web Service too.
I
implemented the functions described in the Datastage Web Service Technical Specification into my existing XML Web Service. I followed the unit test plan in the Datastage Web Service Technical
Specification. Testing was successful. DATASTAGE_DEV was not available to test, which was one of the requirements in the unit test plan, so I did my testing on DATASTAGE_PROD. Brian and Jacob will
be
handling steps D-G in the unit test plan.

I worked on reconfiguring the logo for the PTS CSS so it shrinks and expands with various resolutions. I helped the other IT interns with removing disconnected wires in the data center. I met with
Jim
to discuss my progress on various projects. We discussed software development lifecycle methodology, bug tracking standards, and source control standards. I gave some proposals on how to improve
things
and that will be included in the new operating instructions for the IT department. I did some more research on Sharepoint and Bugzilla.

Made 2 minor changes based to my web service based on Brian.s feedback. Jim went over what he was looking for in a business case for the data dictionary. I wrote a business case for the data
dictionary
project. I put the finishing touches on style sheet. Requirements, for now, have been satisfied.

Jacob has asked me to add a field on the Request Detail screen where the user can enter a completion date in for a project if the project has been completed. I spent this time looking over the code
and
familiarizing myself with C# and ASP.NET. I made some changes and functionally have some of the basics changes in place. I met with Jim and went over business case for data dictionary and received
list
of changes that need to be made. I made the changes to business case and handed in final copy for approval.

I worked on the completion date features for the Request Detail page. I am nearly done and I am just working out bugs at this point. I am still familiarizing myself with ASP.NET.

Weekly Review
I am glad to see that my web service has been fully deployed and is actually being used for something. The PTS style sheet project is complete, but now Jacob has me working on various small
features
that need to be added. I am happy to see that I am being assigned to more development tasks. I want to become more proficient in writing C#/ASP.NET code and this is a good opportunity to learn it.
